Our Tour Offerings

Boo Hag and Brews Tour

Is this a walking brew tour with a side of ghosts or a ghost tour with a side of brews?? While guests will have to decide that for themselves, we can tell you this is not an average “sit there and shut up ” tour, but rather an opportunity to engage back and forth with a local Charlestonian. As a combined bar and ghost tour guests will visit two different bars where complimentary appetizers will be served and the guide will provide drink recommendations. As part of the tour guests will also walk by and receive ghost stories near local graveyards and homes, some of which are over 200 years old. The tour will wind down at a hauntingly beautiful local park where one of the first female serial killers was hung. Don’t stick around too long after the tour or you may end up a ghost yourself!

History and Hops Tour

This walking tour led by Captain Bryan or Local Guide Adam Moore is not your average “sit there and shut up” tour where the guide won’t even remember your name. Rather this experience is for guests who enjoy sipping their way through an old city full of history. The licensed guide will meet guests at the initial bar establishment and receive a complimentary appetizer and the opportunity to purchase some of the areas finest beers and mixed drinks while the guide goes over the historical roots of the city. From there guests will walk the charming alleyways and cobblestone streets of Charleston to several cultural sights including a dungeon, original city theater, and 300 year old homes. A second bar will be the site of another interlude where the guide will relate stories specifically relating to the Prohibition era and its affect on the populace. At the end of the experience, guests will find themselves at a local park near the waterfront for one last exhilarating story!

Women and Wine Tour

The Women and Wine is a combined history and bar tour that will include two bar stops and historic sites in between. Led and designed by two locals Gia and Capt. Bryan the focus of this experience is on women who changed the scene politically, socially, and economically in this city of firsts with drink options along the way in the partner bar establishments. Start out by enjoying a glass of wine/beer/ or cocktail in a wine bar started by three women entrepreneurs and being introduced to women who were active in Prohibition era Charleston. From there guests will explore the historic district and several sites associated with influential women in awe inspiring tales of adversity and strength. Guests will finish the tour in the second bar establishment. While this experience is designed by women, and about women, it will be a unique adventure for guests of all backgrounds and the first of its kind being offered in Charleston.

Historic Harbor Tour

The vessel used is a 22 foot bay boat going over the same seabed that saw a pirate blockade by the dreaded Blackbeard, one of the first major Revolutionary War Victories at the Battle of Fort Moultrie, and a Civil War naval blockade and battle that would inspire movies like ‘Glory’. Captain Bryan will provide history about 5 historic sites (Fort Moultrie, Fort Sumter, The Battery (Oyster Point), Castle Pinckney and the site of Fort Johnson. Along these tours you will also have the opportunity to see a multitude of native wildlife including the friendly bottlenose dolphin and diving pelicans. Captain Bryan has years of tour guide experience and is one of the few Captains who is also licensed with the City of Charleston.

Pirate Escape Scavenger Hunt

This Pirate themed scavenger hunt is the first self guided experience in Charleston to replay the very real Pirate Siege of Charles Towne in May of 1718. Guests will walk the same footsteps and visit site that were around during the Golden Age of Piracy. Your goal on this hunt is to find items the pirate need to make ready their escape before local authorities are alerted to their presence. If you finish the scavenger hunt in time, you will escape. If not however, your fate will be sealed and you will discover at the end what happened to the pirates that did not make it out of Charles Towne in time!

Behind the Scenes of Shem creek Shrimp

This walking tour led by Captain Bryan is not your average “sit there and shut up” tour where the guide won’t even remember your name. Rather, after  brief introduction, Captain Bryan will lead you on a historic journey of how Shem Creek came to prominence with its famous shrimping fleet and much more. Unlike any other tour in the area, guests have the ability to see the industry at work. Perhaps you will meet Mr. Rector at Geechie Seafood with his several shrimp boats, beautiful reminders of the bountiful harvest to be conducted offshore. Furthermore, sample some of the key lime pie (if available) made by the family at  Mt. Pleasant Seafood market or try your hand cast netting or bringing in the crab trap. This is not a tour, it is an experience to immerse yourself in a culture that is truly intrinsic to the area. Take back history, culture, language, snacks, but most of all guests will take from this experience an underlying appreciation for our local shrimpers and the history behind these hard working men and women. As Captain Bryan says, ” Live the Local Life” and this experience is the perfect opportunity to do so.

Walking Ghost Tour

This one of a kind ghost tour led by a lifelong local Gia is an in depth view on paranormal activity here in the Holy City. Through Gia’s own experiences guest will learn what to look out for and how several spirits have come to be associated with historic locations in Charleston. This tour specifically covers ground in what was the original walled portion of Charleston and as such our most historic district. Please note this is not an active ghost hunt but rather the reflections of a local guide walking on the same streets she would have as a child and as such some of the most impressive knowledge base for paranormal activity in the city! Guests will leave with a sense of what to look for with the signs of encounters all around us and why certain locations have certain activity but most of all a yearning to continue the search on your own after the tour!
